INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Product Description: The silicone nipple shield is designed to protect the nipple during breastfeeding. Made from high quality food-grade silicone, this shield provides a soft and comfortable protective barrier during breastfeeding. The nipple shield can be used multiple times on a single baby during the first six weeks of the baby’s life only. Nipple shields are advised to be used following guidance with a lactation consultant.
Indications For Use: This nipple shield is indicated for breastfeeding mothers with sore or cracked nipples to ease discomfort.
Contraindications: This device is not suitable for women with mastitis or anatomical impediments such as inverted nipples. Do not use if your healthcare professional has advised against its use due to specific medical conditions.
Cleaning And Disinfecting Instructions: Use only drinking quality water. When you first receive this nipple shield and once a day, boil it in water for 5 minutes to disinfect, then dry well with a clean cloth. Before and after each use, wash gently in warm soapy water (preferably without artificial fragrances or colouring), rinse, and dry well with a clean cloth. Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the nipple shield.
Application: Invert the brim then place the nipple shield over the breast, centered over the nipple. Flip the brim down and secure the shield in place over the breast. Ensure cutout is oriented toward baby’s nose while allowing for
maximum skin-to-skin, nose to breast, contact between mother and baby. A few drops of breastmilk or water applied to the underside of the shield before application can improve the seal onto the breast.
Adjust: If necessary, adjust the shield to ensure it covers the nipple adequately without discomfort to prepare for breastfeeding.
Storage Instructions: Store the nipple shield in a clean, dry, food-safe container such as glass or food safe silicone. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure the storage area is dry and hygienic to prevent contamination.
Maintenance: Inspect regularly and check the nipple shield before each use for signs of wear, cracks or damage. Replace the nipple shield if it shows any signs of deterioration.
Troubleshooting: If the shield is not staying in place, ensure the shield is the appropriate size and is correctly positioned with the ‘ocean edging’ cut-out oriented where the baby’s nose is.
Consult with a lactation specialist if issues persist.
Discomfort: If you experience discomfort, discontinue use and consult your healthcare provider.

Warnings And Precautions:
- Allergies: Do not use if you are allergic to silicone.
- Be careful, after disinfecting contents may be very hot. Allow to cool for at least 5 minutes before use to prevent burns.
- The nipple shield is not a toy. Keep out of reach of children.
- Device is intended for a single user.
This is a good question for your health professional caring for you during your pregnancy. Some women buy several different shield before birth so they are prepared and have a choice, other women don't buy any.
Breastfeeding is generally ideal for your baby and you regardless of how your baby is born. We recommend health professional advice.
We are working on this and will update you ASAP
Breastfeeding shields/Nipple shields are a medical device and it is recommended a health professional such as a lactation consultant guides your decision.
Cracked, bleeding nipples are most likely to occur during the first six weeks of breastfeeding.
We have taken great care in minimising our environmental footprint.
- We support breastfeeding not just for its health benefits but also for its environmental benefits. Breastfeeding’s minimal carbon footprint, zero waste, and negligible resource use make it the most environmentally sustainable form of infant feeding. In contrast, formula feeding’s reliance on industrial agriculture, manufacturing, plastics, packaging, and distribution results in significant environmental harm at every stage of its lifecycle. Globally, formula feeding for infants under six months results in the use of over 2.5 trillion litres of water and up to 7.5 billion kg CO₂ equivalent emissions annually.
- Our packaging boxes are recycled, recyclable and also printed with plant based inks by a BCorp Certified company.
- Our office is covered in solar panels which means our electricity bill is extremely low.
- We manufacture in Australia to minimise transportation.
- We have reached out to several recycling businesses to investigate recycling silicone and while we wait, we suggest repurposing by using them in art or DIY projects as molds or stencils, employing them as protective covers for small plants or seedlings or using them as non-slip pads under furniture or objects. Our shields weigh only 7 grams.
Yes. You can look it up: ARTG ID 474534 (Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods)
Our shield is made from soft, flexible silicone that’s designed to gently stretch and adapt to different breast and nipple shapes. Because this silicone is very soft, it can develop a light cloudy appearance over time when it’s washed or sterilised.
This is completely normal and safe — it doesn’t mean the shield is damaged or unclean.
Different brands use different silicone finishes, which is why some shields stay very clear and others develop a slight haze. Cloudiness is simply a natural characteristic of softer, more adaptive silicone.
